Who needs a personal chef? The truth is, anyone! Do your lifestyle and other commitments leave little time to plan, shop, and prepare the meals you'd like to serve? Are you looking for a way to help a family after a new arrival or during an illness? Perhaps, your palate has outpaced your cooking skills, and there's a special event around the corner? 

As your Personal Chef, I will create menus designed for your specific preferences and deliver fully-prepared meals to your kitchen as often as you'd like. I will take care of the shopping and preparation. There's nothing for you to do but relax at home and enjoy a delicious meal prepared with the finest organic & locally-sourced ingredients

We'll begin our relationship with a meeting to identify your needs, taste preferences, and dietary restrictions. Afterwards, I'll send you a menu and set a delivery date. I can prepare everything in your kitchen and clean up when I'm finished. Or, if you'd prefer, I will prepare your items off-site in a certified commercial kitchen and simply deliver everything to you. Either way, all components will be clearly marked with serving instructions. Nothing left for you to do but enjoy.

About Me

I am a Birmingham native and mother to Madeleine, Liam, and Colin. I have been cooking professionally for a little over 20 years, but I began cooking long before at my grandmother's side. It was there that I learned not just the essential techniques but the power of good food. I believe that food nurtures the spirit and feel privileged anytime something I have prepared becomes part of another's fond memory. Food should not be pretentious...it is food, after all, but when we respect the ingredients and see beauty in the act of feeding someone, a meal, no matter how simple, can change your entire day.

I've had the great fortune to train with some of the country's finest chefs both in Birmingham and on the West Coast.  They introduced me to the beautiful writings of M.F.K. Fisher, Elizabeth David, and Ruth Reichl, as well as the masters of technique and food science, Rose Levy Beranbaum, Richard Olney and Harold McGee. To this day, these tomes are never too far from my reach. Food trends come in and out of fashion, but the foundations remain the same - high quality ingredients...lovingly prepared to reveal their innate deliciousness.

I am devoted to supporting businesses that support local farms and share my commitment to ethically farmed and raised goods. These are a few of my favorites.

hOW DOES THIS WORK?

First, we will meet to discuss your taste and dietary preferences. On the agreed upon day, I will arrive at your home, with all necessary equipment and groceries, to prepare your personalized menu. After neatly storing your meals in the refrigerator, I'll tidy up and leave. All items will be clearly marked with warming instructions.

What is included?

You may choose from several different plans. My services include breakfast, lunch, or dinner items tailored and delivered according to your needs. The preparation, delivery and all groceries and supplies are included in the plan cost.

What about special diets?

My menus are truly personalized for my clients. In doing so, I can accommodate their individual dietary requirements - gluten-free, diabetic, dairy-sensitive, heart-healthy, vegetarian, and vegan. 

How much does it cost?

The cost will vary according to ingredients and preparation. Most dinners average $15 per plate. Breakfasts and lunches will be priced accordingly. 

Can you cater special events & Parties?

Absolutely! I am happy to help make you the perfect host or hostess. Whether it's a dinner party, family gathering, casual get-together with friends, or holiday, I'll prepare the perfect menu so that you can relax. Contact me for more information.

Do you offer cooking classes?

Yes. I offer Private or Small Group Lessons for people who are looking to hone their skills or start from square one. For friends who like to cook together, I offer Cooking Parties. Everyone gets to help! You and your friends have fun and enjoy a delicious meal, while I do most of the work. Contact me for more information.
